How the game plays
Six looks. Endless covers. No score ceiling.
- 01Read the sleeve
Every round opens at 8 × 8 pixels. Use the artwork's dominant colors, composition and silhouette before increasing the resolution.
- 02Search your answer
Choose an album title from the suggestions, or switch on artist search when the performer is the clue you remember first.
- 03Reveal or give up
Leave the search empty and press Skip for the next enabled pixel view. At 64 × 64, Give up reveals the sleeve and answer.
Inside the crate
What counts as an album cover?
The quiz draws 100 distinct sleeves from Songspot's music catalog. Releases marked as singles or EPs are left out, so a track's one-off artwork cannot quietly masquerade as a full album round.
Deluxe, remastered, anniversary and expanded editions are grouped under the underlying album title. That keeps one record from appearing several times just because different catalog editions use separate labels or image sizes.

Quick answers
Album Cover Quiz FAQ
How many album covers are in the quiz?
The current pool contains 100 deduplicated album covers across five difficulty shelves. Play continues one cover at a time and avoids repeats until the active shelf runs out.
Do I answer with the artist or album name?
Album title is the default. Turn on Search artist in the game controls to make the artist name the accepted answer instead.
Are deluxe and remastered albums separate answers?
No. Edition labels such as Deluxe, Remastered, Expanded and Anniversary are collapsed to the base album title, while the full catalog edition remains an accepted answer.
Can I play the album cover game more than once?
Yes. There is no fixed set or final score screen. Choose Try again after any answer, use New cover, or switch difficulty to keep playing. No account or download is required.
